My name is Teresa (Tree) Marie Moses and I am a lived experience-lead professional with a foundation built on both personal journey and formal education. My experiences, rooted in overcoming adversity and navigating systemic challenges, have provided me with deep, first-hand knowledge of resilience and healing. In addition to this lived expertise, I bring a solid educational background that further informs and strengthens my ability to serve others with empathy, insight, and practical guidance.
In 2022, I founded Tree’s House Soul 4 Sole, a nonprofit dedicated to nurturing hope and healing for all generations impacted by grief and systemic challenges. Through this work, I aim to create enriching pathways that integrate life, loss, love, and legacy—honoring the complexity of human experience while fostering resilience and purpose. My services are available for youth, middle-aged individuals, and adults, recognizing that healing and growth span across all stages of life.
As a Black, systems-impacted woman, my journey has been shaped by significant adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), which have deepened my understanding of resilience and the transformative power of healing. Both my childhood and adulthood have been marked by the ripples of ACEs, yet I continue to allow the wisdom from these experiences to guide me in creating spaces where people from all walks of life can find connection, support, and growth.
I currently work as a Program Facilitator with the G.R.I.P. (Guiding Rage into Power) Institute and have collaborated with other organizations like the AHIMSA Collective. I also had the honor of leading grief workshops, grief circles, and/or drum circles at Napa State Hospital, Valley State Prison, Correctional Training Facility, Chowchilla Women’s Facility, UC Berkeley, Richmond’s National Night Out 2024, and with the Black Female Entrepreneurs of the Central Valley. These tailored workshops and activities have helped community members navigate some of their toughest challenges. Through the service I offer, I aim to inspire and empower, transforming personal trials into a force for positive change in every community I engage.
